The adventures of Beekle! By Dan Santat.

I have a little godson; he lives in Venezuela. Last week I was talking to his mom just to make sure everything was ok, and she told me that Jose has an imaginary friend. This friend goes with him everywhere; they cook, play, go to school, go nite nite, take a shower, and do everything together. My friend was so worried about this because she said that sometimes it is too much.

After a couple days I went to the bookstore to find a good book to do the assignment and while I was looking at the shelf, a book called “The Adventures of Beekle, the unimaginary friend” poped out. I told myself: This is the book I will get! not just for my homework but for my godson and his mom. When I started reading the book, I traveled directly to Jose’s brain and thought about how fun is to have a friend that is right next to you the whole day.

The story engages you from the first page. You can easily relate the story to real life. Sometimes we do things that we may do not like, just because we want to make new friends. The pictures are fantastic, you can feel every emotion of the main character.

What I most like about this book is the way the imaginary friend gets frustrated because no one wants him as a friend, so he starts to do whatever he can to find a friend. After waiting patiently for his future friend, he finally found one. the best one!

After buying the book, I translated it into Spanish and called my godson to tell him the story. He got very excited, and he told me that many things that happened in the story, he has had experienced them with his friend. The creativity of a child is incredible, genuine, and beautiful. Today I can also say that I have a friend who is by my side the whole day, I talk to him whenever I need him, and our relationship is special and strong; his name is God! and you? have you found your best friend yet?
